The spirit of funny television is encapsulated in cartoons. They open up our imaginations and make us laugh out loud at their farcical comedy. Anything is possible in the world of cartoons, and the imagination is king. This makes them a favorite of both children and adults alike.

It would be true to say of cartoons that “they don’t make them like they used to”. Some cartoons from television archives have great animation, excellent story lines, very funny voices and particularly well integrated music.

I’d like to cast your mind back to a few cartoons you probably loved when you were growing up, and which are now classics.

The Jetsons were a big favorite from the 1960s. It was great fun to watch this space age family deal with its problems. I watched it as a child in the 1980s and it was like being projected into the future.

The way the program depicted life in the galaxies was not only entertaining but also credible.

Watching one of Popeye’s fine episodes, you’d be hard put to believe that it was made over fifty years ago. It always had a ‘good versus evil’ story line that has stood the test of time.

Popeye’s adversary was Bluto, who’d compete with him to catch the attention of Olive Oil. When Popeye ate spinach, he transformed much as Clark Kent did when he turned into Superman, and then he’d save the day to the enormous excitement of any children watching.

Looney Toons is a time-honored cartoon that deserves to be on my list. Bugs Bunny is the mythical star of this classic show and is as relevant to the world of entertainment now as he ever was.

The Looney Toons scripts are works of genius and it’s evident that a high level of professionalism went into the show’s creation.

Aside from television, the writer also frequently shares knowledge about the guitar chairs and guitar footstool.
