Laughing is a funny thing. Haha, get it, the irony? Ah, never mind. Not the best of jokes, I take it? But on a more serious note, laughter truly is the best medicine. Not only does it feel good to laugh, but it is also good for the soul. Laughing allows you to release your inhibitions and to really let loose.

Laughter is something that has been happening ever since the dawn of time and speech. Why exactly do we laugh though? What could the purpose be? We laugh when we see something that we consider to be amusing. There may be other reasons for laughter, but humor is usually the paramount reason. Humans love humorous things, and laughter is a bi-product of humor.

You will find though, that laughter does not have just one purpose. It can also aid with other issues that pop up within our own lives. Laughing is a great way to help with releasing depression, and allowing positive energies to overtake your body. If you are having a horrible day or are feeling less than average then its about time to give yourself a decent laugh to get rid of that horrible stress. Laughing will also help you if you’re having a good day. After all, wouldn’t it be nice to make a good day even better?

As previously mentioned, laughter is the best form of medicine. This sounds like just another corny expression though, does it not? As corny as it may sound, it is actually the truth! In fact, laughter has been proven to be one of the best methods of stress relief. Laughter has the tendency to reduce and even eliminate negative emotions and replace them with happier, more cheerful ones.

Believe it or not, laughter has been linked as a cure or beneficiary for other medical dilemmas as well. For example, laughter on a daily basis has been proven to help your immune system. And, as was mentioned earlier, no matter how upset or distraught you may be, laughter can instantly uplift your mood.

In addition to laughter from a medical standpoint, laughing is also a great personality booster. When someone sees you laughing, you will appear to be friendly and approachable. People who sulk or do not enjoy themselves via laughter appear to be quiet, reserved, and sometimes even unfriendly. However, if you allow yourself to engage in a little laughter from time to time, others will see that and will be able to detect that you truly are a fun loving person. Allowing people to view that side of you will let them see a little more into your personality, enabling them to get to know you better.

Having read this document in its entirety you understand that we have covered many of the reasons for why laughter is very important to you. Even if you know all of these things and understand them fully, it wont help you at all if you don’t try to employ these philosophies in your own life. Try laughing a little bit because it will raise your spirits and make you a lot easier to get along with. You cant even conceive of all the benefits related to having a little bit of laughter in your life. So why don’t you just give it a try. I guarantee you it’ll be funny.
